Access Guide: Karuizawa Prince

From Tokyo

Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Karuizawa Station (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes). From Karuizawa Station, take the free shuttle bus to the resort (approximately 1 minute — the resort is directly adjacent to the station). Walking from the station takes approximately 10 minutes.

By Car

From Tokyo, take the Kanetsu Expressway to the Joshinetsu Expressway, exiting at Usui-Karuizawa IC. Follow Route 18 to Karuizawa. Total driving time is approximately 2 hours. Paid parking is available at the resort and the adjacent Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza.

Local Transport

The resort is essentially station-side, making it one of the most convenient ski areas in Japan. The Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza is within walking distance for apres-ski shopping.
